Job description

Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, the Copywriter is responsible for developing creative ideas and communications concepts that solve business problems and address a client brief. Working in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment, it is essential that the individual is a fast worker who grasps concepts easily with a flexible attitude and excellent attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years previous experience in a creative working environment. It is likely the successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications and have attended Award School (or equivalent).

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Generates creative advertising ideas that are clear, persuasive, brand aware, original and relevant
? Writes clear, persuasive, original copy that is grammatically correct
? Brainstorms ideas and concepts with other agency team members and liaises with clients to interpret their briefs
? Amends, revises or redevelops creative work or campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director, account management team or clients.
? Supports Agency production team in the briefing and selecting of suppliers to help execute creative executions
? Oversees campaigns through the production stage to completion.
? Works on several campaigns at once, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
? Keeps up to date with popular culture and trends
? Liaises with production companies, photographers, typographers, designers and printers
? Demonstrates creative ideas in a multi-channel environment; actively pursues new media and digital solutions
? Stay informed on the results and the effectiveness of advertising campaigns
? Links idea to execution from the client to the agency through drafting great creative briefs
? Understanding client specifications to craft copy that is on brand
? Working with an art director to devise creative strategies
? Keeping copy consistent and identifiable for each client
? Working collaboratively with the team to further develop ideas
? Writing or rewriting headlines, copy and captions according to requirements
? Supports the Agency team in new business presentations, credential meetings and other non-client related creative requirements

COMMUNICATION:
? Maintain an open line of communication with management, peers, contributors, clients and suppliers
? Conduct business in an honest and truthful manner.
? Deal with others in a professional manner showing courtesy and respect.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
? The ability to think creatively and translate ideas into copy
? Experience in writing strong, clear and compelling copy that is grammatically correct
? A flexible approach and willingness to adapt ideas to the needs of clients
? Confident in providing a rationale for creative recommendations and an ability to be persuasive in selling in creative work
? The ability to meet deadlines and work in a pressurised environment
? Flexibility in relating to a broad range of audiences and consumers in order to construct compelling communication that generates the desired behavioural response
? Great organisational skills
? An eye for detail
? Strong research skills that ensure all copy is correct and accurate
? A passion for writing and the willingness to learn
? A genuine interest in social trends and people's attitudes to a range of subjects in order to write copy that is relevant, modern and connects with the audience
? Ability to write fluently, to word length and to deadline to the style required by any particular campaign, media format or brand.
? Ability to grasp a range of subjects and to jump between subject types on a daily basis
? Enthusiasm and desire to grow within a creative and branded content environment
? Ability to understand social media platforms, emerging technology and the need to constantly stay updated on new territories and opportunities.
? Ability to work both independently and as a team, as required, and to strict deadlines
