Today, as we are supporting our client on one of their major projects for 2025, we are currently looking for a:

CORROSION ENGINEER - PERMANENT POSITION

AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND CAMPAIGN FOR EXPAT OPPORTUNITY IN SAUDI ARABIA

They are seeking a Corrosion Engineer to join Global Manufacturing Excellence organization under the Downstream Global Manufacturing Support Department (GMSD).

GMSD’s technical team is a multi-disciplinary team provides the required high-quality technical support to GM operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & across the globe.

Your primary role will be to provide technical support to operating facilities, projects, technology deployment, and talent development of new Corrosion Engineers. You will also conduct special studies and analysis in a specialized corrosion control field, such as cathodic protection, water treatment, chemical inhibition or materials selection. Additionally, you will provide specialized technical corrosion control services and consultation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement corrosion management program and on-stream monitoring.
  • Conduct risk-based inspection based on API-580 methodology.
  • Review and approve recommended solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection.
  • Participate in HAZOP review sessions and ensure that all issues are addressed.
  • Manage water treatment program and recommend solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current code and standards.
  • Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
  • Assess feed composition changes and approve recommend solution to assure assets integrity.
  • Develop scope and description of technology items, and lead field implementation.
  • Develop and transfer knowledge about use of coating, CP, corrosion inhibitors and other corrosion controls and best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineer.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience, with a strong preference for 15 years’ plus, in processing in Oil/Gas industry, material science and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications and knowledge in engineering aspect of welding.
  • Knowledge of the international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API and ASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570 and API-510 is required.
  • Valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571 and NACE CP level II.

  • Short-term Disability: In the event you are unable to work due to illness or injury, short-term disability income benefits are provided. The benefit is 30 days full pay and 60 days at three-quarters pay, in any one year period.
  • Death Benefit: Company pays an ex-gratia death benefit equal to 24 months base pay if death is from an industrial accident and 12 months base pay if death is non-industrial related.
