Cosmetic Formulation Chemist

Responsibilities:

• Establishing production procedures for new products including creating master batch documentation and product specifications
• Prepare laboratory-scale batches of products for customer samples and various tests.
• Assist with troubleshooting batch production problems 
• Optimising formulations and/or production procedures for existing products
• Modify and approve formulations, product specifications and manufacturing procedures
• Actively communicate with contract customers, suppliers, and all departments involved in Product Development, Production, and Quality
• Facilitate and oversee scale-up to full-scale batches
• Some formulation development of complementary medicines/cosmetic creams, lotions, gels and liquids is required
• Assisting QA/QC in the evaluation of raw materials, including regulatory and safety compliance
• Assisting QA in handling customer complaints
• Assist with customer requests for formulation and regulatory information (ingredients, INCI lists, label compliance checks, etc.)

 Requirements:

• Degree in Science or Chemistry, or a Diploma in Personal Care Formulation backed by extensive industry experience
• A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Cosmetic Formulation 
• Experience with scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing
• Genuine ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a team environment 
• Strong understanding of a GMP environment 
• Knowledge of TGA and ACO compliance is an advantage
