About The Role
CMC has been engaged by Tweed Shire Council to undertake the design and construction restoration of four major landslips along the Tweed River following the heavy rain and flooding event of February 2022.
In order to deliver these important works for the local community, we are now seeking an experienced Cost Controller/Site Accountant to assist our team.
Based in our site office in Murwillumbah, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of the project including cost control metrics, forecasting, and variance analysis, as well as managing all aspects of project accounting.
The Scope Of The Role Includes
- Daily tracking of the costs monitoring costs per unit, ensuring all costs are captured;
- Development and submission of the progress claims (up to 10) to the Project Manager for approval including all supporting documentation;
- Management of the monthly forecast costs to complete;
- Assisting the Project Manager in end-of-month reporting to the Client and CMC;
- Updating and management of the commercial registers.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field;
- Experience of on-site project accounting on a civil construction project;
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices;
- Working knowledge of project accounting software and ERP systems;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
