The Opportunity
Responsible to the Operations Manager - East, this newly created pivotal role will support Payload’s estimation and project coordination services to internal stakeholders and external clients. In this role you will consult, liaise and negotiate with a wide range of suppliers to project manage agreed scopes of work from cost estimation to final deliverables. You will play a key role in responding to Payload’s sales enquiries, tender quotations, maintaining detailed cost estimation data and variation notifications.
To excel in this role you will be self-motivated, have a strong technical knowledge of advanced metal fabrication processes, materials and equipment, and be mathematically adept to calculate costs, quantities and measurements accurately. Your understanding of dump body and mining bucket fabrication and repairs will see you as a great fit to partner with Payload.
Additionally, you will:
- Prepare and develop comprehensive BOM’s and estimate pricing on scopes of work through to developing of proposals for submission to close-out.
- Respond to tenders requests, develop pricing, preparation of tenders and/or quotations.
- Servicing the RFI process in line with the tender process.
- Develop Project Packs.
- Working collaboratively with the assigned Project Manager.
- Work on multiple tenders/quotations and be able to track progress.
- Provide efficient and productive implementation of project coordination practices, including but not limited to; resource planning, cost control, timelines, scope definition, quality control, task scope, safety management, continuous improvement, condition monitoring and reporting.
- Be accountable for monitoring compliance to scope and raising cost variation notifications
- Ensure production of compliance/ QAQC documentation
- Develop benchmarks for generic scopesof work for the purposesof providing clientswith quick budgets estimates
You'll hold the following qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Engineering or Cert IV in building and Project Support – Estimator or a related field such as mechanical engineering, civil engineering or metal fabrication.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A minimum of five years demonstrated experience in a similar industry
- Advanced metal fabrication estimation skills
- A high level of self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously
- Exemplary and professional customer service focus and support of our customers
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to safety at all times
- Current Drivers Licence
- Intermediate/Advanced computer literacy skills
- Ability to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical including a drug and alcohol screen
- National Police Certificate
