The key responsibilities of the Cost Modeller include:
- Prepare a cost model to capture the cost of ICT services to be delivered by the departmetn to consumers, with pricing schedules in line with the proposed service offerings.
- Work collaboratively with the ICT procurement team, Business as Usual (BAU) service owners, Finance, and the Shared Services Centre to determine the model for how costs will be developed and recovered from consuming users and agencies.
- Synthesize, provide feedback on, and iterate costings to progressively improve their quality linkage to service offerings.
- Work with Finance to ensure that costs are correctly mapped from department's TechOne system into the model, and that a process to include financial results in the model on a periodic basis is present.
- Work with BAU service owners, Finance, and the Shared services centre to identify relevant cost drivers and prepare forecasts for use in the model.
- Document the model's function, operation, and maintenance and review requirements.
- Contribute to the overall project objectives and specific team deliverables.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic including taking ownership and initiative, providing professional expertise, and a high level of productivity. You must have suitable experience, preferably in an ICT environment. This position will report to the Project Lead of the Partnerships and Shared Services stream or Director as appropriate.
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience in working across multiple teams and stakeholders to gather cost and cost driver information to develop the cost model, ideally with similar models in a
similarly-sized environment. - Experience in ICT cost/tower management.
- Excellent at facilitating collaboration between stakeholders, including designing and leading workshops, and being a trusted interface between the team, corporate areas, and ICT.
- Experience with TechOne CiA and a familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality, concise, easy to read and relevant documentation for service costs.
- Experience working in an Agile approach and an understanding of the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard.
- Ability to work independently in complex situations with a pragmatic approach to allocated work, demonstrating commitment to project outcomes.
