Opportunity for a FinOps Cost Modeller in a Leading Government Agency
***ACT/BIRSBANE PREFERRED – NV1 CLEARANCE PREFERRED – AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED***A leading government agency is currently seeking an experienced FinOps Cost Modeller to join its Enterprise Transformation Group, focusing on enhancing financial sustainability through expert cost modelling and resource allocation. This role is essential for optimizing cloud services and improving overall financial operations.Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze current cloud cost data to identify spending trends, key cost drivers, and support risk management.
• Perform detailed cost modelling to aid in budget predictions and decision-making for optimizing Cloud service expenditures.
• Collaborate closely with teams to review financial analyses, spend, and ROI across cloud investments, and assist in preparing cloud cost management documentation.
• Engage proactively with procurement teams and service providers to refine pricing models and service offerings, enhancing cloud financial operations and governance.

Essential Criteria:

• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in cost or financial modelling, ideally within major ICT or asset projects.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and a strong understanding of cloud financial operations, including consumption-based billing and cost allocation.
• Commercial acumen with skills in investment support, scenario planning, and issue resolution.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders, negotiating outcomes, and managing complex relationships.

Desirable Criteria:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or recognized industry certification.
• Experience with cloud governance practices, particularly within a government context.
• Proficiency in financial management, including budget forecasting and cost governance models.
