  • Employment Term: Permanent Part-time (68.4 hours per fortnight)

  • Remuneration: $93,865.73 (pro-rata) + 11% Super + $15,900 NFP Salary Packaging

Your part in our UnitingCare Community team 

We are currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Counsellor to join the Peninsula Community Support team based in Redcliffe on a part time basis of 68.4 hrs per fortnight (9 days a fortnight). 

This role will provide individual, couple and group counselling and education to adults who reside within the Redcliffe Peninsula, with an aim to strengthen family relationships, prevent breakdown and ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and adults who live in all kinds of families. 

Duties include:

  • Undertake assessments, counselling, referrals and case reviews for a range of clients.
  • Prepare written and oral reports relating to client matters (e.g., case notes, referrals, case reviews and case closure summaries); and statistical/administrative reports.
  • Advocate for clients, provide relevant referrals and liaise with other agencies when appropriate.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development and supervision.
  • Maintenance and quality of client information systems, e.g. MyCMS and RiskMan.
What makes a difference for us? 
  • Possession of a Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution with prior experience in a similar role.
  • Sound knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to provide counselling and related services within a therapeutic context to a range of clients with issues including, but not limited to, domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, relationship discord and grief and loss.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication and advocacy skills.
  • Current drivers licence is essential.
  • A current Blue Card or willingness to make an application for one.
