Position Status: Appointment to 31st December 2024.Come join the dynamic team at Holmesglen's Student Wellbeing Department as an experienced Counsellor. We're on the lookout for a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students and staff.In this role, you'll provide individual and group counselling to students that exhibit behaviours of concern and those impacted by these behaviours. You will play a key role in engaging stakeholders for early response and assessment as a preventative model of care. You will play an instrumental role in bringing about behavioural change through therapeutic frameworks, so that all students may thrive in their educational aspirations. You will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of Institution-wide change as you optimise the Behavioural Risk Assessment and Management (BRAM) framework and procedures alongside a diverse and highly experienced team. Additionally, you'll have the exciting opportunity to lead engaging group workshops on various developmental topics, such as Risk Assessment and response, stress management, impacts of mental illness on learning and behaviour, trauma informed approaches, and the BRAM procedures.ABOUT YOU
- No experience necessary in educational environments.
- Experience and expertise in using therapeutic models of care including, counselling, welfare services, behavioural modification, trauma informed care, and risk response and Management.
- A commitment to ethical professional practices and counselling standards, along with a strong understanding of case management processes for effective support.
- Familiarity with relevant community organisations and welfare agencies, including welfare and mental health information services and referral procedures.
- Knowledge of necessary legislation, regulations, processes, and techniques, as well as strategies to support individuals with special needs.
- Possession of a graduate qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related discipline, coupled with relevant work experience and relevant industry registration.
