Your new role
In this role you will support the Senior Manager, Risk Assessment & Monitoring. You will be a key support to the Group Risk (Line 2) Risk Assessment & Monitoring function by helping to identify areas for continued improvement in the risk, control and obligation management practices across the Fund.
The role supports the implementation of the Enterprise Risk management framework (ERmf), including through conducting Enterprise Risk assessments and by driving the annual Risk Management Declaration (RMD) process.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct Enterprise Risk assessments in accordance with established Risk Assessment standards, and work closely with the Senior Manager to develop and propose Enterprise Risk ratings to the Executive Committee.
- Support the annual RMD process and work closely with the Business to collate and challenge evidence provided to support the declaration to be signed by the Board.
- Play a supportive role in developing and maintaining a Line 2 monitoring framework to guide the monitoring function in Group Risk.
- Support the Risk Assessment & Monitoring team execute continuous monitoring reviews, including working with Line 2 Advisors.
- Provide data and insights for regular reporting of monitoring outcomes to relevant stakeholders, including the Executive and directors as appropriate.
- Collaborate with other members of Group Risk to deliver accurate and insightful risk reporting where required.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to help inform and recommend changes to risk frameworks, policies, standards and procedures, that impact the Fund as a result of monitoring activities.
- Drive and actively support a positive Risk Culture.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, law or Industry related field.
- Solid risk management and assurance experience (3+ years), preferably gained in Financial Services or consulting.
- Good communication skills and ability to engage and influence.
- Ability to write with effect, particularly in relation to creating reports and updating risk framework documents.
- Sound understanding of control design and operating effectiveness.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical and investigative skills.
- Good planning, consulting, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to respectfully challenge, deal with conflict and stand their ground, where required.
- Solid stakeholder engagement skills that reflect a professional, collegiate and engaging approach
