Job description

  • Located at Tamworth Community Health Centre, this position involves offering counselling services to individuals referred to the Drug and Alcohol Service, with a specific focus on addressing and assisting clients dealing with substance use issues.
  • Our Counselling team at present comprises only one counsellor, forming a compact group dedicated to providing support and assistance.
  • Guided by Senior Counsellors and an extensive multidisciplinary team, receive comprehensive orientation from the Clinical Supervisor for effective support and integration.
  • Enhance your skills with monthly opportunities for online education, Clinical Reviews, and Drug and Alcohol Education, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Counselling or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association and full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA),
    where applicable.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.
