Who are We?

Drill Quip Pty Ltd are a team of experienced Rig personnel with years of Oil Rig drilling, mechanical and electrical experience. We specialise in Top Drive Maintenance, CRT (Casing Running Tool) Sales, Rental, CRT Driller Training, Recertification’s & NPT Preventative Maintenance programs.

Our workshop is based in Toowoomba, QLD.

The Role

As a CRT Technician, you will be working as part of the team inspecting, maintaining and servicing oilfield equipment both in the Toowoomba workshop and on Rig site locations. This will involve providing equipment installation, repair and maintenance services and completing scheduled work in a competent, professional manner complying with standards and with regard to any Statutory requirements. In particular, working on Casing Running Tools.

This role is not FIFO, the successful applicant must be living in or willing to relocate to Toowoomba, QLD.

Core Duties will Include:

1. Dismantling Volant Casing Running Tools (CRT) to conduct Cat 2B and Cat 3 inspections or other inspections as requested
2. Assisting Shop Manager in the Workshop
3. Completing mechanical repairs
4. Travelling to Rig site locations to assist with:
   • Running casing
   • Torque Monitoring operations
   • Training Client personnel in the operation of Drill Quip’s CRTs
5. Training of other Drill Quip staff and new employees
6. Communicating and working effectively in the Maintenance Team
7. Completing paper based and electronic records 
8. Maintaining a very Safe and Clean work environment

Key Selection Criteria

• Mechanical or diesel fitter qualifications
• Volant CRT Maintenance, Assembly and Operation Diploma
• PMASUP236 Operate Vehicles in the Field (4WD)
• Wellsite Permit to Work
• Proven mechanical experience
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team
• Good organisation skills
• Understanding and execution of safe working practices

Other Requirements

• Industry Safety Induction – Safer Together Program
• Experience in maintenance or asset management programs
• Capable computer and data entry skills
• Current contactable references
• Current manual drivers’ licence
• Forklift licence 
• Front end loader licence preferred but not essential
