An exciting opportunity has come up to join our dynamic and friendly team in CSSD as a trainee technician at Central Gippsland Health Sale!

We seek two motivated and willing people to support our growing needs in a perioperative environment. This a trainee role and it will be well supported by internal staff and external education support as it is pivotal for day-to-day surgical procedures; hence attention to detail is essential.

You will bring your passion to the role, where you will work with the multidisciplinary team to support our operations.  You will be well supported by an external provider and internally you will be supported to learn the role.  Allocated study days will be provided to ensure you can meet the needs of the traineeship.

About the Role

As a traineeyou will learn about the processes of CSSD and undertake onsite training.  You will be supported to complete your modules by an external educator to ensure that you are meeting all the expected criteria.  In CSSD you will be responsible for carrying out the cleaning, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilisation of surgical instruments and medical equipment.  At the end of the training period you will be a qualified grade 4 CSSD technician.

Duties

• Minimum of 1 years' experience working in any form of healthcare, dental or allied health environment including dental nurse assistants, veterinary assistant allied health assistant, food technician.
• Positive attitude to enable to work effectively alongside the team as well as independently as required and willing to complete the training requirements for full qualifications.
• Customer service oriented in both internal and external settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills and able to receive and interpret feedback in a positive and constructive manner.

• Is willing to take direction and complete the required course expectations
• A background in healthcare is preferable but any exposure to health or any similar environment or holder of Certificate in Sterilization Service would be advantageous
