The Opportunity
This position will develop and implement cultural planning and development programs, projects, policies and strategies in line with Council’s corporate goals and in addition, provide advice to Council on Arts and Cultural issues.
The successful incumbent will build creative capacity within the Noosa area and provide creatives with information, services, networks and resources to foster positive local arts and culture outcomes.

About You
As the Cultural Development Officer, you will have extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of cultural planning and development/or other areas relevant to the position.
You will have the ability to provide key specialist advice on cultural planning and development matters and to actively implement, run and manage arts and cultural programs within the community.
Further but not limited to, you will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with proven ability to liaise effectively with the community and with other professionals in a range of disciplines inside and outside of Council.
The position's focus will be:
- Initiate, design and activate projects, programs and/or strategies to address identified arts, creative industries and cultural needs of the Noosa community.
- Source grant opportunities, prepare submissions for funding and manage delivery and reporting for projects that support Cultural Development within Noosa.
- Facilitate the implementation of key actions from the Noosa Cultural Plan and other cultural documents in collaboration with partners and key stakeholders.
- Lead a continuous improvement approach and oversee the development and delivery of the Regional Arts Development Fund, including maintaining the Arts Queensland partnership, coordinating the RADF Committee, promoting the RADF program, supporting applicants and supporting grant management processes.
- Research arts sector trends and needs to provide specialist advice and expertise to arts and cultural organisations and individuals in accessing services offered by Council and external agencies.
- Actively work across Council to encourage a coordinated approach to cultural projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local, state and regional arts and cultural stakeholders, generating opportunities for cooperation and partnerships that benefit Noosa’s arts and cultural ecology.
- Perform administrative duties including correspondence, records and database management, budgeting and financial monitoring and provide input to relevant reports for Council and management as required.
- Assist the Noosa community’s recovery from a disaster event.
