Job description

Alternative Brewing is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced person to join our Customer Service Team in the role of Customer Service Representative. Come and be a part of a successful and established privately owned company that specialises in the online retail of Coffee Brewing Equipment and Machines.

This position is based in Darra, Qld.

The customer service team interact daily with customers on an inbound basis – responding to web and email enquiries to answer product and stock questions, deal with any queries regarding orders, deliveries, returns or customer accounts, as well helping customers to place orders.

Good computer and keyboard skills are a must (touch type), as is a professional, helpful and friendly customer attitude and most importantly a "can-do" attitude. The right candidate will be a fast learner who enjoys training on the job and hitting the ground running.

The key duties and responsibilities for your role are:

  • Dealing with customer enquiries including, but not limited to, product information and availability, advice on product types and features, progress of customer purchase orders and warranty requests.
  • Data entry of sales orders and communication with customers in relation to same, including sales order amendments.
  • Provide written and verbal quotes in line with Alternative Brewing pricing and quotes guidelines.
  • Conduct customer service requests including "Track and Trace", "Proof of Delivery" and "Controlled Returns".
  • Monitor stock levels and customer demand and alert the inventory manager if there are perceived insufficient stock levels or a trend towards insufficient stock levels.
  • Prepare and distribute updated ETA emails to customers.
  • Coordination of spare parts and warranty including, but not limited to, assisting customers with enquiries, processing requests, completion of warranty register, stock take and re-ordering of spare parts.
  • Actively support Alternative Brewing's commitment to quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.

To succeed in this role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • Strong internal customer service experience.
  • Base level coffee/product/industry knowledge favourable but not necessary for the right applicant.
  • An aptitude for minor technical information and issues.
  • Must demonstrate a premium-level dedication towards "red-carpet" customer service, and a drive towards ensuring the customers feel special at all times wherever possible.
  • Prompt, punctual, well-presented and respectful of peers & management.
  • A demonstrable understanding and participation in the teamwork ethic.
  • Prepared to assist in overflow work from other colleagues' positions – to assist other team members in the pursuit of the company's overall objectives wherever necessary.
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office (Shopify & Reamaze/Zendesk are a plus)
  • Excellent time management.
