The Technology division delivers the Group's information technology and banking operations functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation. Cyber Security protects the bank and our customers from theft, losses and risk events, through effective and proactive management of cyber security, privacy and operational risk.

Your new team

The Cyber Defensive Assessments team plays a critical role in our managing CBA's cybersecurity posture. We are seeking a manager who will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to conducting comprehensive cloud assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and enabling continuous improvement across Cyber Defence Operations.

Cyber Defence Operations (CDO) helps protect the group from malicious activity by providing a combination of Cyber Defence and Cyber Attack teams. The Cyber Defensive Assessments Team enables CDO to appropriately prevent, defend, detect and respond to cyber security incidents.

Your Impact and Contribution:

The Cyber Defensive Assessments Team are part of the wider Cyber Defence Operations Division, and work closely with all CDO, as well as the broader Technology teams. As the Cyber Defensive Assessments Manager, you are the subject matter expert in AWS and/or Azure responsible for identifying security weaknesses, leading solutions, services and project initiatives across Technology.

You will act as the Cloud Security SME and escalation path, drawing on your expertise in one or more of the following domains: AWS or Azure, incident response in cloud environments, Cloud Security, cyber security control effectiveness, host analysis, network forensics, malware analysis, threat intelligence, and system administration.

You will also:

  • Lead and manage a team of cyber assessment professionals, ensuring the team effectively identify, assess, and mitigate potential cyber risks.

  • Use cyber security tools to gather information and perform investigations within the Group's environment.

  • Determine best practice approaches for monitoring, undertaking incident response, and managing cyber control hygiene.

  • Document appropriate ways to detect, prevent, and isolate suspicious activity.

  • Assist the CDO team with any incident response and remediation activities related to workloads.

  • Review security controls in affected environment(s) to identify gaps and provide input into post incident reporting.

We are interested in people who:

Are a technical cyber defence security assessment expert with a strong commitment to delivering comprehensive defensive reports, solutions, and services to safeguard the organisation. As a Cloud Security Assessments SME, you will leverage your experience from a similar role, where you managed extensive and intricate security solutions and coordinated incident response initiatives.

You are a deep technical Cloud Security SME with the ability to offer extensive experience across cloud incident response or similar operational Cloud Security services.

You will bring:

  • Proficiency in cybersecurity operations or other cyber discipline.

  • Deep technical defensive Cloud Security expertise working in complex security assessment solutions.

  • Proven experience in Cloud security across AWS or Azure is essential.

  • Proven expertise in cyber assessment, risk analysis, and incident response.

  • Experience in AWS and/or Azure Cloud Security controls.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, information security, information technology, risk management or equivalent discipline is highly desirable.
