Cyber Security Advisor (Training & Resilience Stream)
On-going, full-time opportunity with NSW Cyber
DCS Clerk Grade 7/8, annual base salary starting at ($106,025 base) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the Role:
Cyber Security NSW is looking for a Cyber Security Advisor to join the Training & Resilience Stream within the Awareness, Training & Resilience team. We are looking for candidates with strong organisational skills who have experience in providing strategic advice and enabling the efficient delivery of Cyber Security focussed projects or initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of discussion papers, working group papers, briefing notes and submissions in line with established project management methodology
Monitor, report, and document initiatives and programs to improve the effectiveness of processes and projects
Provide input into the design and delivery of Cyber Security incident response exercises to enhance organisational Cyber Security capabilities and resilience
Undertake research and prepare correspondence, written reports, publications, and briefs, that are informative and aligned with agency requirements, to support informed decision making and contribute the achievement of service delivery outcomes.
Contribute to managing relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating their engagement in, and contribution to the identification and development of solutions
Work on simultaneous initiatives and projects to the required standards and timeframes, given the need to rapidly understand and integrate information and adapt in an often changing and unpredictable environment
About You (Essential Requirements of the Role):
To be successful in the role you will:
Be reliable, flexible and hardworking, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities at once within an agile and continuously changing environment
Experience preparing and reviewing briefs and submissions, undertaking research and analysis
Possess excellent organisational and communication skills, and be able to proactively manage own workload and tasks
High level of proficiency in Office 365, Atlassian (Jira) and other common project management software
An understanding and interest in Cyber Security – Qualifications, certifications, or experience relevant to Cyber Security will be highly regarded
An Australian Citizen including the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance and undergo a police check.
About Cyber Security NSW Branch:
The Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function located within Digital.NSW in the Department of Customer Service. We are responsible for ensuring a cyber safe NSW. The protection of our systems and digital information is vital because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport. Furthermore, the exciting digital transformation being undertaken across NSW Government requires similarly enhanced Cyber Security capabilities.
At the centre of this exciting and growing cyber capability, Cyber Security NSW is working across NSW Government to:
Create a whole-of-government integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to Cyber Security threats
Increase cyber skills and awareness
Understand the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems
Set Cyber Security standards
Ensure we are prepared if a damaging cyber incident occurs.
