Requirements

The Purpose:

As a Cyber Security Engineer within the Infrastructure and Operations team, you will work closely with other IT professionals to identify and mitigate cyber threats and implement robust security solutions that protect our organisation from cyber-attacks.  You will be the primary point of contact between the Cyber Security and Infrastructure & Operations teams to ensure the security and integrity of our computer systems and networks. 

Primary Accountabilities, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the central contact point between the security team and infrastructure and operations. 
  • Action security assessments to remediate vulnerabilities in our computer systems networks, and cloud environments. 
  • Implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. 
  • Configure security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection, and encryption systems. 
  • Monitor network activity to identify potential threats and respond to security incidents promptly. 
  • Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents to determine the cause and extent of the breach.
  • Security Infrastructure Development: Implement and manage security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus, and encryption tools. 
  • Threat Detection and Response: Respond to and mitigate security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
  • Policy and Compliance: Enforce security policies, standards, and procedures. 
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Research & Development: Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and methodologies.  

We'd love to hear from you if have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar role 
  • Experience with security assessment tools such as vulnerability scanners and penetration testing tools such as WIZ, Qualys, CrowdStrike. 
  • Proficiency in using security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint protection. 
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
