The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated APS 4-5 to join the Cyber Security Systems Infrastructure (CSS-I) team. Under broad direction, the successful applicant will be responsible to the Team Leader - CSS-I for providing ongoing technical support of the Defence Security Operations Centre (DSOC) Cyber Security Systems.
You will have proven experience in the administration of Linux and/or Windows based systems, as well as familiarity with virtualisation and storage technologies. The duties for this role will include:
- Building and deploy changes to infrastructure.
- Contributing to automation for environment provisioning and application deployments.
- Contributing to monitoring to provide visibility into system and application state.
- Contributing to routine system maintenance, including patching, upgrades and deployments.
- Participating in troubleshooting application performance issues as required, assisting development teams by identifying root causes or bottlenecks.
- Investigating/prototyping new technologies and identify opportunities for improvement.

DSOC’s Platforms Services section are pivotal in enabling DSOC functionality through the design, maintenance and support of the section’s Cyber Security Platform and underlying systems. This platform needs to be highly secure, resilient, scalable and adaptable to enable the DSOC to detect and defeat the cyber threats to Defence’s information and systems.
