RequirementsThis is a rewarding role for someone with the technical skills, attributes, and willingness to work as the D365 and Power Platform System Administrator, note this is not a developer role. This person will be required to work with multiple technical teams to administrate relevant infrastructure, improve ownership, access and licence assignment processes, security and cost reduction for the DAFF and DCCEEWs D365 and Power Platform environments. Working as part of a motivated team, duties will include:
- Undertaking system administrator tasks for our D365 and Power Platform environments
- Responsibility for best practice management and risk reduction activities in our D365 and Power Platform environments.
- Auditing/Managing related security groups and licensed users, ensuring conditional access, cross tenant isolation, and DLP policies are in place.
- Monitoring/Managing storage capacity and relevant consumption costs.
- Reviewing, or contributing to change and release processes for the D365 and Power Platform environments.
- Maintaining ownership information and developing policies, recognized processes, training and communication materials relating to the Departments D365 and Power Platform environments.
- Engaging with a range of stakeholders, providing advice on licensing, and high-level solution designs. Addressing risk, scalability, supportability, and suitability of new applications.
- Developing the related service catalogue, maintaining the application inventory and producing analytical reports on the D365 and Power Platform.
- Undertaking cloud optimisation activities in other cloud products, like Azure, M365 and AWS.
- Supervising staff and contributing to the development of the section workplan.

Working arrangements - Initially working from the Canberra office. A working from home arrangement for 2/3 days may be considered via relevant approval processes.

CriteriaEssential criteria
1. Demonstrated hands on experience in system administration of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, including PowerBi, Power Pages, Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate RPA, and AI Builder technologies.
2. Experience in or knowledge of deploying and maintaining the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) along with knowledge of PowerApps integration, Azure API Apps and REST services.
3. Experience working with multiple data sources (Dataverse, Azure, SQL, SharePoint, and other connectors)
4. An excellent understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies and related governance and licensing frameworks.
5. Strong analytical skills and be able to problem-solve complex matters, communicate effectively, in both written and oral communication. The ability to achieve results while contributing to the positive culture of the section and the branch.
Desirable criteria
1. Tertiary education in the related field, such as a bachelors degree in computer science, or equivalent industry experience
2. System admin experience in other cloud technologies, like Azure, AWS, M365 and DevOps
3. Certifications in M365, D365 or Power Platform
4. Experience working in Australian Government ICT and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation, such as the PGPA Act, Commonwealth Procurement rules, the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Whole of Government Volume Sourcing Agreement with Microsoft.
