Seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Dairy Herd Manager to join the team.
Our clients run a successful family owned and operated dairy, beef and forage production business. This rapidly expanding business follows industry best practice and high production systems running:
- 2,700+ cows across 3 dairy sites with 2,000 cows milked on the main Dairies at the Mt Schanck properties.
- A broadacre cropping program.
You will be of positive nature, capable and experienced in all aspects of dairy production and associated cropping, including:
- Herd Management
- Milk Production
- Staff Management
- Farm Maintenance
- Financial Management
- Sustainability and Compliance
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Dairy Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dairy farm management.
- Strong knowledge of dairy farming practices, herd health, and milk production.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and record keeping.
- Sound computer skills and experience with dairy management programs.
- Highly developed communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative
