Join our team as a Data & Analytics Specialist
With several exciting projects due to land in 2024, Foxtel is on the hunt for a Data and Analytics Specialist to enable the Foxtel Business to understand what our customers are doing now and, what they will do in the future.
Working with business users, data engineers, visualistion developers, product owners and project managers you will be responsible for analyzing the vast amount data Foxtel collects across its digital streaming platforms and products like Binge and Kayo and producing insights into what our customers are doing and ultimately, what we should building into our products to improve experiences and drive revenue.
You'll love data. You're skilled in data science, maths and statistics and you're comfortable with data engineering concepts. You're also a gun when it comes to visualizing insights, able to tell a “data story” and get a kick out of giving others that “ah-ha!” moment.
This is a “hands-on” role where you will switch between workshopping and design to coding, SQL and visualization. You'll be comfortable directly leading small teams and influencing broader groups of people that will enable the delivery of valuable insights.
Lastly, you'll have a proven track record of building strong relationships with business stakeholders. You'll relish the opportunity to be the trusted adviser to product owners, senior management, marketers and strategists, helping them understand “what's possible” when you apply solid data science to vast amounts of data.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Working directly with business stakeholders and product owners to understand the questions that need to be answered
• Ad-hoc analysis of large data sets using a variety of tools and techniques including SQL, ML and Tableau
• Define and build data products that enable the business to understand and action data insights
• Application of ML models to describe, group and predict customer behaviour
• Visualisation of data from data products, analysis and ML models that enable business and product teams to understand the insights you've produced and where/how they should be actioned
• Contribute to new technology/tool analysis and selection.
• Manage project plans, timelines and resources, monitor milestone completion, provide timely reporting of issues, coordinate actions and resolve blockers.

Your experience and capability

• 5+ years demonstratable experience of SQL including querying techniques and table and data model design
• 3+ years of demonstratable experience applying Data Science and analytics techniques to business problems
• Experience with cloud native architecture, development and automation - AWS or Azure
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management
• Tableau visualization experience highly regarded
• Experience working in Lean-Agile environments with a demonstratable understanding of the underlying concepts nice to have
• Experience leading small teams (either informally or in a team leader capacity) a bonus!
