SalaryPosition Description (Role & Responsibilities):
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure.
- Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems.
- Testing newly installed or relocated cables according to company specifications.
- Identifying and removing redundant cabling.
- Installing of televisions, routers and internet technology devices.
- Troubleshooting issues with cable network.
- Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, Catenary Wires
- Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Proven success in previous roles which may have included the AV/IT, Electrical, Data and Security installation industries
- A desire to enhance people's lives through technology
- The temperament to engage in break-fix fieldwork with tight deadlines
- A solid understanding or ability to quickly understand structured cabling and technical installations
- Be an excellent communicator with a genuine interest in people
- ACMA cabling license is preferred but not essential
- QLD blue/white card essential
- QLD Manual drivers license essential
- Own transport essential
- Previous work experience as a Cable Technician highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics, science and electrical systems.
- Ability to install or work towards complex internet and television equipment.
- Ability to work in small spaces.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and fix any problems that may arise.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to identify independent colours and learn colour code
- Must be switched on and willing to undertake a ICT30519 Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology if not qualified
- Fit and able bodied
