About the Role:

We're seeking a Data Engineering & Analytics Lead to join our Technology team. In this role, you'll be pivotal in managing, analysing and enhancing Finance One's data while improving our reporting capabilities.

Your Day-To-Day: 

Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, your role will encompass a diverse array of responsibilities, including:

Data Engineering: Design, implement and optimise data architecture and pipelines, solving complex source data challenges

Data Quality & Analysis: Lead the charge in understanding and enhancing our data quality framework, working closely with the business to prioritise improvements and implement solutions.

Analytics & Reporting: Shape our reporting framework, develop key metrics, and ensure continuous enhancement of our reports suite.

Business Intelligence: Drive the development of our ETL approach and tools, select BI technologies, and manage vendor relationships in the data and BI space.

Data Architecture: Map and evolve our company's data structure, implement Master Data Management, and ensure consistent data across systems.

Data Governance: Develop and implement our data governance framework, contribute to data policy development, and provide inputs into ISO27001.

Data Strategy: Guide the development and implementation of our data strategy, from philosophy to roadmap, and lead data & Analytics initiatives from inception to delivery.

Technology Risk Management: Contribute to data risk management, perform risk assessments on third-party suppliers, and ensure remediation of issues.

Applications Management: Support application planning to ensure the appropriateness of our data applications and services.

IT Support Management: Ensure timely and effective company-wide response to data issues and incidents.

About You:

Knowledge & Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in an IT discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with hands-on expertise in Data Engineering, data quality management, data analysis and modelling, report design and development, data architecture, and data governance.

• Extensive experience in a software development environment, preferably where the company designs and builds its own core platforms or external products.

• Understanding of the Agile Manifesto and principles of agile methodologies, with insight into their impact on organizational culture.

• Proficiency in SQL, with experience in Power BI and knowledge of other reporting and BI technologies like Alteryx or Tableau.

• Familiarity with leading Information Security standards, particularly ISO 27001.

• Track record of delivering complex IT projects that meet and exceed management objectives.

• Ability to manage a small team in a hands-on, results-driven manner.

• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify root causes and communicate issues effectively.
