- Lead the implementation of the HWD Data Strategy to achieve the strategic objectives planned.
- Lead the design and implementation of the HWD Data Governance Framework to standardise policies and procedures for Data Governance.
- Represent HWD data interests at broader departmental forums, working closely with HWD data teams, the Department's Data Governance, data services and legal sections to align HWD data strategy and governance with departmental and government frameworks, policies and priorities.
- Undertake targeted research to break-down complex Data Governance work processes and implement work improvement processes for the Health Workforce Division.
- Oversee HWD data request processes and reporting.
- Support the development and implementation of data sharing agreements and service level agreements with relevant stakeholders and data custodians.
- Policy advice and support relating to Data Governance, as required.

- Expertise in establishing Data Governance and management capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support data initiatives aligned to a Data Strategy.
- A high-level understanding of, or the ability to acquire, an understanding of how data enables Health to meet its objectives.
- Expertise in data quality capabilities.
- Knowledge of multiple information management disciplines such as master data management, meta-data management, data operations, data storage, and data architecture.
- Excellent data analysis capabilities in addition to superior problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
