The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville. The Role
The role will document, audit and support the full development of Whitsunday Water and Waste’s asset management system working with engineering and operations and corporate teams to achieve and optimise an asset management system. The system will correctly capture and record asset data (in line with WIM alliance partner’s hierarchy as far as possible) underpin and support the efficient Maintenance and renewal interventions necessary. The successful achievement of this role will be the establishment and iteration of this system necessary for Whitsunday Water and Waste to achieve long term goals of efficiently and sustainably supporting the community.
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in successfully working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated advanced computer literacy, with the ability to utilise financial, records management, project management, asset management and Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills in a dynamic work environment, with the ability to make sound recommendations and decisions.
- Must possess and maintain a current Queensland “C” Class motor vehicle driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Bachelor of Engineering (Graduate)
- Previous experience or demonstrated skills training in GIS
- Previous experience is expected in the water industry with experience in treatment operations/management an advantage
- Technical knowledge and understanding of water and sewage network and treatment assets including familiarity with Australian Standards and specifications for design and construction of these assets.
