•This role is ​temporary full time, 76 hours per/fortnight, contract ends early February 2026.​ 
•The work location this for the role is IKEA ​​Service Office Tempe. 
•This role is open to hybrid working including a minimum of 3 days in Service Office Tempe.

•Internal job title is Information Security & Data Privacy Specialist.
•As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.  If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a ​national police check.​ 
•As part of this role, there will on occasion be a requirement for you to travel to New Zealand and/or within Australia.

We are looking for an Information Security & Data Privacy Specialist who is driven & determined to support this ambition, come along the journey with us and join the IKEA Aotearoa New Zealand project team!

As ​Data Privacy Specialist (Information Security) ​your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
•Ensure we enter the New Zealand market compliant with local Data Privacy law across all areas of the organisation. 
•Using the Security and Privacy by Design concept to secure continuous compliance of data processing in accordance with Data Privacy law and steering documents. 
•Provide Data Privacy subject matter expertise to support the country to secure the compliant processing of personal information. 
•Secure that Personal Data Management activities such as Personal Data Inventory and Mapping are completed. 
•Provide knowledge of IT security to the country, contributing functional expertise to adequately protect and safeguard all information assets. 
•Perform IT security checks of systems across New Zealand and/or Australia. 
•Deliver training on Data Privacy and Information Security across the organisation. 
•Take ownership for Information Security or Data Privacy incidents in area of responsibility and ensure that these are dealt with in accordance with the prescribed procedure. 
•Keep updated on current and emerging security and privacy trends, threats, tools as well as changes in legislation within the area of Data Privacy and how this applies to the country.

Who you are

As Data Privacy Specialist (Information Security) you are or you have: 
•Relevant tertiary education in law or related areas. Preferable demonstrated experience with Data Privacy law or compliance.  
•Desirable knowledge of IT security and vulnerability management.  
•Confident reading and interpreting privacy legislation and global governance to ensure IKEA is managing and handling data with the greatest of integrity.  
•Strong risk management perspective whilst understanding the need to balance commercial opportunities for the business.  
•Confident building relationships with diverse stakeholders, providing guidance, information and holding your ground when required. 
•Great attention to detail and see Data Privacy as a valuable asset to the business.
