Your impact and contribution
The Bankwest Privacy and Data Delivery Team provide end to end governance and oversight of Bankwest’s critical data and deliver process and control enhancements to ensure we are effectively managing our Data and Privacy Risks and Obligations.
Data Management is a centralised dedicated function within Bankwest and we looking to expand the direct support we can provide to our business.
As a Data Steward you will gain knowledge of all critical business and technical processes.
This is a unique opportunity that enables broad stakeholder engagement and will lead to a solid business and technical understanding of Bankwest data and systems.
The Data Steward reports to the EM Privacy and Data Delivery in the Bankwest Chief Controls Office.
More specifically you will:
Translate Group Data Management policy and regulatory requirements into the Data Management roadmap to ensure compliance
Report on Data Management (roadmap) progress
Educate and guide data producers and consumers to ensure they understand their obligation and invest in uplifting Data Management
Champion and educate data producers and consumers in data producers and consumers practices to ensure they can deliver required outcomes & artefacts
Advice and coach projects as they move through the project delivery lifecycle across all phases of data producers and consumers
Identify and bring Bankwest Critical Data Elements under governance
Implement reporting to ensure ongoing monitoring of CDEs (incl. control performance, DQ thresholds)
Implement processes to investigate and rectify any CDE data issues (incl. control defects, DQ issues)
Support data guardrails approval for each project to ensure initiative are compliant (e.g. with policies/standards)
Collaborate with all stakeholders relevant to DMI (e.g. Data Office, Risk, Audit, Data Owner and their Delegates)
Actively support projects/initiatives with Data Management work on an ad-hoc and ongoing basis, including hands-on support related to DM processes, artefacts and deliverables where required
We want to hear from you if you have
Strong Project Management experience and proven ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders
Strong Data, Risk and Governance experience
Strong understanding of Data Lifecycle, including database structures, data processing & warehouses
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong commercial and technical acumen with a pragmatic approach and passion for problem solving
Demonstrated skill and experience in extracting and interpreting complex data through e.g. SQL, tableau, python
Ability to work autonomously and get technical support from various teams across the Group
Relevant qualifications in data management disciplines such as risk, compliance, audit, actuarial or analytics
