Geobase Australia Pty Ltd is a geological consultancy that provides a range of services in data compilation, data management, GIS, reporting and project reviews. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Database Geologist to join our team in West Perth.
This role will see you based in West Perth, working on data from a variety of multi-commodity exploration projects around the world.
As a Database Geologist, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and maintaining geological databases for various exploration projects across different commodities and regions
- Developing and integrating geological database systems using industry-standard software and tools
- Compiling and reviewing geological data and reports
- Conducting QA/QC checks and ensuring data integrity and accuracy Performing GIS analysis and mapping
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in geological sciences or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in geological database management, preferably in the mining or exploration industry
- A high level of proficiency in SQL, MS Access, MS Excel, and other database applications
- A solid knowledge of geochemistry and QA/QC methods
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- A permanent residency or citizenship in Australia
