Qualifications
Essential – Tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor) in in Computer Science or IT or Telecommunication or a related discipline
Desirable – VMWare VCAPS, Red Hat, SANS SEC 401, SANS SEC 488, SANS SEC 504; and CompTIA Se
Experience Essential
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience working as a Network Engineer inside complex and/or largescale ICT projects/programs with a focus on Network Security Appliances (firewalls, NIDS/NIPS configuration, Application Firewalls).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Commonwealth Cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. ISM, PSPF, and ASD Essential 8)
- Experience in Physical/Virtualised Network designs using technology such as VMware NSX-T, Cisco ACI, and OpenStack SDN etc.
- Experience with VMWare security implementation (WorkSpace One, VIDM)
- Understanding of infrastructure, software, and networking concepts (e.g. Multi-Tenant, and Micro-Segmentation)
- Previous working experience with complex multi-vendor product environment(s)
- Understanding and awareness of network, software, and infrastructure security best practice, protected network design and design limitations/workarounds
- Strong communication skills – with the ability to translate/transfer business and technical terminology
Desirable:
- Australian Government, Defence, or Defence Industry experience
- Current Professional IT certifications in one or more domains (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, VMware VCP/VCAP, AWS/Azure Professional Architect)
- Exposure to Data Centre networking design, including Spine/Leaf Architect, HCI, and Storage network.
- Exposure to Software-Defined WAN technology (SD-WAN).
- Exposure to infrastructure design to support REST API orchestration and automation
- Multi-Site SDN architect and design experience
