Finance Officer, (Part-Time 0.9 FTE), commencing in Term 2 2024

A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced person to join our Finance Department in the role of Finance Officer (Accounts Receivable). This is a maximum-term opportunity to cover leave for an existing employee in Term 2 (April 8 to June 21, 2024). 

This is a part-time (0.9 FTE) role, working across a 9-day fortnight. However, applicants looking to work 4 days per week (0.8 FTE) are also encouraged to apply. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for administering the Accounts Receivable functions of the College.  - 

Our successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service, high level of accuracy and attention to detail and strong time management skills. Experience in a school environment would be highly regarded. 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in end-to-end accounts receivable processing
  • Processing of annual and pro-rata tuition fees and other charges to Debtor Accounts
  • Experience in follow-up with Debtors and Debt Collection
  • Daily reconciliation of all Primary Bank Accounts, Weekly or monthly reconciliation of all Secondary Bank Accounts 
  • Prepare and reconcile cash for College banking in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconciliation of payments received against Sundry Debtors and Community Debtors
  • Strong communication skills to respond to Debtors queries as required, and maintain effective relations with stakeholders.
  • Contributing to business improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Accounts Receivable processes
  • Excellent time management skills to organise work related tasks.
  • Experience with Accounting Software packages 
  • Experience in a school environment is an advantage
