Deckhand - Fiji

About the Opportunity:

Hall Pacific, a leading civil, marine, and dredging contractor in the Pacific Islands, is seeking Deckhands who are residing in Fiji to join a newly awarded project in Ba River. This is an opportunity for you to develop your skills with Fiji’s premier marine and dredging contractor.  As a Deckhand you will play an important role in the assistance and upkeep of the company's fleet of vessels and marine equipment. The project is estimated to go for 7 to 9 months with day and night shifts as required.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assist with the day to day running and maintenance of a variety of vessels (workboats, dredges, etc.).
• Ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
• Clear communication, physical fitness, and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines are paramount in this role.

About you:

• Prior experience as a deckhand preferably with rigger and dogger qualifications 
• Self-motivated and able to perform under pressure.
• Must be willing to assist in general duties of Marine and dredging projects in accordance with OHS regulations.
• You are safety-minded and able to follow instructions.
• You hold or are willing to obtain an Elements of Shipboard Safety Certificate and First Aid Certificate
