We have an opportunity for a Deer Control Coordinator to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The primary purpose of the role is to deliver coordinated support to groups undertaking programs and initiatives to effectively manage the environmental, agricultural, and pastoral impacts of feral and farmed deer with the aim of ensuring the ongoing effective management of the environment and helping to secure agricultural and pastoral production.
The role contributes delivering the agency’s priorities including:

  • Increasing productivity of our primary industries and agribusinesses.
  • Securing production through biosecurity and efficient and sustainable use of resources.
  • Build partnerships with industry, stakeholders, research organisations and regional communities.
  • Managing adverse events effectively and helping primary industries and communities improve preparedness, resilience and recover well.
The role contributes to delivering Biosecurity objectives by managing the risks to South Australia posed by animal pests.

Special Conditions
  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • 12-months opportunity.
Requirements
  • Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
  • Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
Remuneration
ASO5 - $84,522 min - $94,003 max per annum, plus superannuation
