We seek an experienced and highly motivated Dental Nurse to join our team at West Perth. As our practice is growing progressively, we are looking for an individual who would love to be a part of our practice journey and be able to contribute and strengthen our team with your high standard of performance.
- Genie software – 4 surgeons and specialists – multi-site
- Hours: 7:30 am- 5:30 pm (full-time equivalent over 4 days) or 5 days – work/life balance. No weekend.

The duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Accompany with Surgeon to theatre at various hospitals. (roster may vary)
- Provide chairside assistance, prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures.
- Liaise with anaesthetists, assisting doctors, medical representatives, nurses and hospitals to ensure theatre lists are well managed and coordinated.
- Theatre bags are well prepared, and instruments delivered to hospitals accordingly.
- Stock management. Liaise with suppliers to ensure adequate stock level.
- Maintain established infection control standards in the clinical setting and throughout the entire practice.
- Maintain dental equipment, consumables and supplies in the oral maxillofacial practice.
- Undertake equipment decontamination and sterilisation in the sterilisation facility.
- Provide mentorship and clinical support to less experienced dental assistants.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Undertake relevant administrative duties.
- To undertake any duties requested by management and surgeons at OSC.
- There will also be a requirement to assist with Reception duties from time to time due to the size of our practice.
Requirements:
- Empathetic and kind nature.
- Punctual and robust work ethic.
- 'Can do' attitude who is highly organised and prides themselves on their attention to detail. It's a must.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
- Experience in implants & surgery is desirable.
- The ability to be flexible, work and liaise effectively with other team members.
- The candidate must have completed a Cert IV in Dental Assisting and have at least 24 months experience as a Dental Assistant. (Cert III is also considered)
