An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Senior Dental Technician to join the Oral Health Services team in Cairns. About you:

You are a qualified Dental Technician with demonstrated advanced level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in the given technical domain and demonstrated ability to provide technical advice within the specific area to a variety of clients regarding technical standards and service delivery.

Your opportunity:

As a Senior Technical Practitioner, you are required to in a particular technical domain, perform complex and diverse technical tasks and engage in independent decision making and judgement on a day-to-day basis with minimal supervision in the provision of quality Dental Technician work.

Your role:

  • Participate in quality and service delivery and improvement activities including but not exclusive to Performance and Development, Accreditation, and other Quality activities, within scope of practice at the local service delivery area.
  • Maintain the dental laboratory and equipment in a safe and hygienic condition.
  • Ensure infection control standards are met as a member of the multidisciplinary dental team.
  • Utilise, and ensure compliance with contemporary human resource practice and principles including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination requirements.
  • Work in other Oral Health facilities outside of Cairns within the Cairns and Hinterland Oral Health Service, if required.
  • Professional reporting to Dental Technician Advanced in Cairns Oral Health Service.
