Terrace Dermatology and The Skin lab is seeking a part-time to full-time well presented, motivated, and reliable Registered Nurse to join our friendly team at our well-established Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology Practice. Must be available Monday to Friday
ABOUT US
Conveniently located near the Brisbane CBD and central train station our practice consists of medical, surgical and cosmetic Dermatology. We are independently and locally owned and operated and specialise in dermatology, minor surgical procedures, skin grafts, UVB Treatments, cosmetic injectables, laser resurfacing, skin rejuvenation, facial treatments and body contouring.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The dynamic role includes providing nursing and administrative support to our Dermatologists, including escorting patients into rooms, taking patient medical history, pre and post-operative wound management and dressings, setting up and minor procedures in rooms, ROS and wound dressings, clinical triage, sterilisation, clinical photography, clinical follow up, laser treatments and various clinically-based administration support duties.
Ideal for a nurse seeking a part-time to full time role 3-5 days per week in private practice, with an interest in dermatology, skin health and dermatological and cosmetic treatments. Please note this is primarily a medical and surgical role, not a full time cosmetic injector role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a part-time position, requiring 3-4 days per week. The role will be varied, including but not limited to:
- Assisting and supporting patients
- Assisting with surgical procedures and cosmetic treatments
- Preparing and assisting Doctor with skin surgery
- Provide pre and post-op care/ prep and information
- Wound management
- Removing Sutures
- General duties include ordering and restocking of medical supplies
- Clinical photography
- Overseeing sterilisation of medical equipment
- Phototherapy and laser treatments
- Clinical follow up and triage
ABOUT YOU
Ideal candidates will have:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate well to patients, staff, practitioners and health care professionals.
- Demonstrated organisational, time management skills and self-motivation
- Mature, responsible, accountable and highly professional
- Commitment to providing a high standard of safety and quality patient care and patient education
- The ability to multitask and function in an organised and time efficient manner.
- Able to manage clinical areas, including cleaning, and maintaining of equipment and stock
- The ability to perform administrative tasks as needed
- A team player with a proactive positive attitude that brings out the best in both our wonderful team, doctors and patients
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- Experience with phototherapy and laser treatments
- Experience in other private practice such as GP clinics or specialist medical clinics
- Open laser license preferred
