About the Role
At AES Underwood, we operate under the Team Based Care model. The TBC Nurse role is a dynamic and varied position, perfect for those who thrive in a multifaceted work environment. As a TBC Nurse, you will be involved in a mix of triage, initial orders, and medical and surgical procedures. This diverse role offers a unique opportunity to engage in different aspects of patient care, ensuring that no two days are the same. Our nurses also rotate through hospital and float shifts ensuring a varied mix of shifts. Key Responsibilities:
- Triage: Efficiently assess patient conditions and prioritise care based on urgency.
- Emergency stabilisation of critical patients
- Initial Orders: Execute initial medical orders, ensuring timely and accurate patient treatment.
- Procedures: Perform various medical and surgical procedures, contributing to comprehensive patient care.
Training Program
You will be allocated a mentor and a team of trainers who will support you through the training process. You will receive on the floor training, including “buddy” shifts with your mentor and trainers for the first 8-12 weeks.
Webinars and online resources will also be prescribed to enhance any areas where you need additional training and support. You will have total access to our monthly in-house CPD, an online database with training modules and webinars. Your training program also includes access to trained Mental Health First Aid Officers, our wellbeing hub and an Employee Assistance Program for support on a range of matters.
About You
- Minimum of 1-year ECC experience or 3 years GP experience
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
- Thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
- Strong communication and team-work skills
- Love of learning and continual improvement
- Reliable mode of transport (essential for shift work)
- Flexibility to work afterhours shifts
- Radiation license or the ability to attain one
