Wilmar Sugar Australia is the nation's leading sugar and renewable energy company. We are Australia's largest raw sugar manufacturer and exporter. Wilmar Sugar owns and operates eight sugar mills in North Queensland. Our mills - located in the Herbert, Burdekin, Proserpine and Plane Creek regions - operate 24/7 during the crushing season, which typically runs from June to November. Outside of the crush, our teams are involved in an intensive repair, maintenance and innovation program to ensure our sugar mills continue to be safe and reliable, and among the most efficient in the world.
Job Vacancy
A highly challenging and desirable role, where no situation is like the next, has become available for someone who thrives in dealing with the intricate details and nature of all things mechanical design. If you consider yourself details driven, solutions focused and strategic in your approach then we'd like you to join our Asset Management team as a Design Draftsperson, based in the Burdekin, Proserpine or Mackay regions.
This role will suit someone who is a self-starter and a technically minded individual. Your ability to communicate with key stakeholders as well as previous experience producing mechanical drafting drawings, including schematic, construction and general arrangement drawings will prove invaluable to your success to this role.
This will be a two-year fixed term role.
Responsibility:
Reporting directly to the Design Engineer, you will provide technical advice for project design and scope, as well as create and update detailed mechanical and structural drawings. You will collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and externally across the 8 different mill operations, all the while demonstrating a good understanding of the design process.
The Successful Applicant
- Of course you must be qualified - Relevant Drafting qualifications (Tafe or otherwise)
- Been there before - Relevant design drafting experience within a heavy industry environment
- Walk the talk - Proficient in use of Computer-aided design software (e.g. Autocad/Inventor)
- Get the job done - Demonstrated ability to apply Australian Design Rules and Australian Standards to designs
- Stand out from the crowd - Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and prioritise accordingly
