Located in Moorebank, we service a wide range of government and private clients including NSW Ambulance, SES, Correctional Services, Service NSW, Disability access, Fire and Rescue, retirement & nursing homes, special needs schools and many more.
As an Amtek Design Engineer, you will work closely with our Commercial division to design solutions based vehicles and products for our clients.
The projects you design will be unique and have a significant importance.
Main responsibilities:
- Design bespoke vehicle solutions and all components for projects
- Create detailed designs with computer aided design (CAD) software SolidWorks.
- Working with our clients and commercial division
- Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials.
- Design diagrams, maps, layouts.
- Identify potential operations issues and redesign products to improve functionality.
- Create prototypes, trouble shoot and find solutions
- Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
- Utilise Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques to ensure effective and efficient design works.
- Conducting research, and presenting analysis and interpretation of data relevant to build projects.
- At times as required, assist in the build process working alongside our tradesman and technicians.
- Communicate and regularly liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to reporting and presentations
- Conducting research and presenting analysis and interpretation of data relevant to design and build projects.
Skills Required:
- Experience and proficiency in Design engineer in similar Industry would be beneficial
- AutoCAD and Solidworks software, high level experience required
- Excellent communication skills both face to face, phone and email
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and manage solutions
- Proven ability to solve problems within a high pressure environment
- Time management skills with ability to meet project deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years Design experience in a similar industry is preferrable
