The Water team promotes holistic, sustainable water resource management, assisting governments, investors, developers, manufacturers, utilities, and corporations with network maintenance and development, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and future-ready strategies.In this role, you will drive the future-ready engineering design solutions and be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality design on water infrastructure projects, primarily in South Australia, with the potential to be involved in national flagship programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy risk management principles and methodologies into project systems and processes.
- Accountable for business and project delivery, leading the delivery of high-quality design on projects.
- Work in partnership with other design organizations in Alliance or Joint Venture (JV) arrangements.
- Manage the design team and interface with the contractor workforce.
- Seek design team resources for each project and ensure adequate resourcing.
- Prepare design fee estimates for both the "tender design phase" and the "delivery phase" of each project.
- Liaise with other key roles within the Alliance or JV.
- Manage the overall delivery of designs to time, budget, and quality standards.
- Manage Engineering governance processes (design reviews, change management, requests for information, validation and verification, etc., related to the design).
- Recognized Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical (Process), or Electrical Engineering.
- Relevant industry experience in the water utilities sector.
- Demonstrated high level of technical knowledge.
- Strong experience in working in partnership with other design organizations in Alliance or JV arrangements.
- Skilled in managing conflicts between organizational cultures and business systems demands.
- Extensive experience in owning and being responsible for signing off on designs that meet legal requirements, quality standards, and client outcomes on projects.
- Established and managed complex design processes and systems in high-profile projects.
- Proven competency in project management.
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks across several projects across the business unit.
- Basic knowledge of contracts or drafting variations (desirable).
- Knowledge and experience in cost reporting, analysis, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word (essential).
