Located in Brisbane – the Design Supervisor role is to lead tendering and estimating teams to successful wins. To supervise designers and their workload and produce documentation in the area of detail design and construction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare of high quality, timely designs satisfying organisation and client expectations, ensuring professional and statutory standards are met.
- Independently lead quoting activities for existing clients and new clients
- Differentiate between work needing detailed design and other types of work
- Develop intelligent and logical tools to assist in quoting works.
- Prepare, coordinate and complete designs and all associated documentation on time including: updating of clients systems, preliminary design (definition of scope of work), and deliverables (costing, equipment and description).
- Liaise with IT to improve software functionalities.
- Liaise with internal software architects to develop and correct system functionality.
- Review, evaluate and check designs.
- Supervise Designer/Project Coordinators and assist in on-the-job training where required.
- Comply with Ventia policies and standards.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 year experience in designer position in Australian tele power industry
- Competency in MS Professional
- Very strong competency in MS Excel (VB desirable)
- Very strong competency in Power BI desirable
- Competency in Microsoft Power Apps desirable
- Competency in all other MS Professional products
- Current manual drivers license
- Be prepared to work away from home
- Desirable : Degree qualified electrical engineer or Electrical trade with diploma
