We are excited to announce an opening for an experienced Garment Technician to join our dynamic Design & Production team. As we experience rapid growth and expansion, this key role will be central to our operations at our Gold Coast office, requiring your presence 1-2 days per week.
Position Overview: This is a unique opportunity as you will be the sole Garment Technician in the team, working directly across our entire swimwear range. The position requires close collaboration with our design and production teams. There will also be design work involved.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work intimately with the Design and Production team to bring initial design concepts through to the final sample, reporting directly owner and factory.
- Generate initial Tech Packs in collaboration with the design team for sample development.
- Measure garments and provide detailed feedback on manufacturing finishes during the sampling process.
- Lead fit meetings and manage the communication of adjustments to offshore factories.
- Engage daily with suppliers, on re-fits, fabrics, finishes, and grading.
- Maintain constant communication with the Production team to ensure adherence to timelines and critical paths.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in a Garment Technician role, preferably within the swim industry.
- Tertiary education in Design, Pattern Making, and Grading.
- A deep understanding of fashion trends and the ability to apply these insights during fit sessions.
- Proficiency in leading software and technologies such as Excel, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Extensive experience in Pattern Making, Grading, and the creation of Tech Packs and garment specifications.
- Experience working with a variety of clothing categories.
- In-depth knowledge of fabric testing, textile properties, and quality assurance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, capable of managing tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
