The CompanyThis Tier 1 FMCG business has had exceptional growth and continues to gain market share from its competitors. They have a number of state-of-the-art distribution facility that manages the movement of their complex and high SKU range of products through diverse sales channels. This business has rapidly carved out a significant market share, becoming one of the leading companies in Australia. As they have continued to grow they have a need to recruit a Despatch Manager to manage the operations function and continue the drive for excellence.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include but wont be limited to:
- The management of all warehouse operations in their despatch area of the warehouse, including warehouse layout, organized finish goods and the picking/distributions of orders through automated channels.
- Report product quality issues.
- Ensure company assets within the facility are maintained to an acceptable and safe standard.
- Plan and execute efficient dispatch and logistics for the delivery of products to customers and alternative depot facilities.
- Scheduling and communicating with all stakeholders for an accurate dispatch of product aligned with DIFOT requirements.
- Manage freight partners and ensure efficient, cost effective and delivering service excellence to customers.
- Plan, organize and coordinate staff to manage the daily workload.
- Lead and motivate staff to encourage a high performing and good work culture.
- Drive continuous improvement projects with a focus in automation.
- Recruit, train and develop the warehouse team.
Your Background
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- 4+ Years’ experience managing in a warehouse/DC environment.
- A strong team-player who champions an inclusive culture and can drive team values.
- Must have clear and open communication skills with the ability to engage warehouse staff.
- Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple accountabilities through to completion.
- Strong problems solving skills, with the ability to utilize ‘Plan, Do, Check, Act’ principles.
- Have proven ability to drive manufacturing improvements through strong communication and clear delivery of plans within the departments.
- Will have strong organisational skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
