Despatch Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Despatch Supervisorto join our Warehouse & Distribution team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for:

About the role:

• Supervises warehouse staff and daily activities in designated key areas
• Allocates orders to staff to be picked, packed and dispatched in a timely manner.
• Works with drivers to ensure trucks are loaded and dispatched to schedule.
• Ensures goods are booked in and dispatched with courier companies.
• Communicates with customers and couriers.
• Investigates and problem solves through issues.
• Participates in stock takes as required.
• Works with Inbound team to ensure picking bays and shelves are properly stocked.
• Creates delivery documentation that accurately reflects the items ordered and shipped.
• Maintains the cleanliness of work areas and warehouse including outside area at all times.
• Continually seeks ways to improve service and efficiencies through systems, people and technology and recommend improvements.
• Assists the Warehouse & Distribution Manager and senior management as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Duties around safety, compliance etc:

• Ensures the safety of oneself and others by following all Quality, Work Health & Safety, and Environment legislation and regulatory requirements of GME.
• Works in accordance with standard operating procedures and established criteria.
• Reports and escalates (compliance) concerns, issues, and failures.

About you:

• 5 years in previous warehousing or logistics roles with team leadership experience. 
• Experience with Lean or other operations improvements methodologies preferred.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems and ERP principles.
• Effective communication and people management skills.
• Strong analytical and process management skills.
• Proficiency with international and domestic freight and logistics
• Ability to manage multifaceted stakeholder / supplier relationships in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Ability to manage a team of Storespersons
• Forklift license desirable.
• Computer skills (Intermediate Microsoft Office)
