Development Assessment Officer - Part Time - 3 days/21 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Part-Time Development Assessment Officer to join our team at Willoughby City Council three days per week.

About the role
The Development Assessment Officer will sit within the Fast Track Planning Team and play a crucial role in evaluating and processing development applications by Councils regulations, policies, and guidelines.
With a focus on delivering excellent customer service, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning and environmental guidelines while facilitating sustainable development.
Requirements
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Town Planning from a University or College
- Previous experience in the assessment and determination of development applications
- Strong understanding of the Environmental Planning Assessment Act 1979 and Regulation, Local Government Act 1993, and other relevant legislation
- Awareness of and commitment to the principles of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and a commitment to attend relevant training
- Awareness of and commitment to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teams
- Outstanding time management skills including the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to provide both internal and external customers with quality service that exceeds their expectations
- Strong computer skills and ability to operate computer based systems
- Class C Driver’s license
