  • Multiple Temporary Full-Time vacancies till 30 June 2025
  • Location: Parramatta
  • Competitive salary ranging from $106,025 to $117,363 plus superannuation and leave loading

About the role

Rewarding opportunity to be part of a team that supports schools and students in providing essential services and support. The role will:

  • Undertake assessments, provide advice support and education , to reporters in relation to response options for students where there are child protection concerns
  • Undertake accurate and timely recording of reports received
  • Provide appropriate referral pathways to reporters for students and their families
  • Provide advice to Child Wellbeing Unit management on critical issues
  • Work with management, customers, community partners and other government organisations to improve service delivery.

This role works within an inbound contact centre and  functions on a roster basis. The Child Wellbeing Unit hours of operation are from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Child protection practice and experience, including front line child protection work with families, and direct work with professionals within child protection.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in effective use of databases (such as ChildStory).
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills
  • A working understanding of the legislation governing child protection within NSW.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
