About the role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a capable and experienced professional to join our motivated and forward looking Development Assessment team. The City of Parramatta has been experiencing unprecedented growth which includes infill developments and urban renewal presenting significant challenges.
Be central to the success of our plans and play a key role in actively contributing both to a positive, customer focused culture and to the on-going improvements to the delivery of our services.
On a daily basis, you will:
- Be responsible for assessing, processing and managing development applications
- Providing planning advice to ensure the city planning objectives of the City of Parramatta’s town planning policies are delivered in development outcomes.Each team is made up of planners of varying experience; with the more junior planners gaining valuable experience assisting the senior planners with some their more complicated applications.
About You
With experience in customer service, project management and the assessment of development applications and the ability to operate effectively in a political and commercial environment, the successful candidate should have previous experience in the assessment, management, processing of Development Applications and providing Town Planning advice.
A Degree in Town Planning or similar with a current Class C Drivers Licence is essential.
It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have:
- Experience as a Town Planner in an organisation with a similar diversity of commercial, industrial, residential and community development as the City of Parramatta.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $98,129.17 to $108,038.89 plus 11% superannuation.
