About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to work with Council’s Development Assessment team and provide engineering advice regarding proposed and future developments.
Duties
- Lead and offer engineering services across the Council consistent with the Community Strategic Plan, Workplace Environment Statement and legislative requirements
- Offer strategic engineering support for new subdivision development in the region in areas such as flooding, drainage, asset management, design, traffic management, road safety
- Coordinate and deliver timely engineering counsel ensuring development assessment, subdivision and linen release processes meet statutory requirements
- Develop strategies, policies and standards for land use planning linked to Council’s Strategic Plan
- Report on WHS policies and procedures within their area of responsibility
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognized by the institute of Engineers Australia
- Extensive experience in engineering related role with knowledge of key legislation as it relates to this role
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others
- Advanced public relations and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to Project Manage; including budgeting and contract administration and knowledge of development assessment processes
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- 140 hours over 19 days – 1 RDO every four weeks
