FULL-TIME, FIXED TERM to DECEMBER 2026
JOONDALUP CAMPUS

Overview
A career defining opportunity exists for an experienced and talented business development expert to apply their skills to the transformational future of Edith Cowan University (ECU). This role will be predominantly based from our Joondalup campus and will play a key part in the exciting new ECU ‘University of the Future fundraising campaign.

The Development Executive role will suit an individual with a background in philanthropy, business development or sales, being responsible for maximising the potential of fundraising projects. With a focus on securing new relationships with corporate and individual donors, to support the delivery of ECU’s world-class research projects, Schools, and other programs, the role is varied and dynamic, with scope for creativity.

As a vital conduit between the University and the community, candidates for the Development Executive position will be required to demonstrate:

  • Ability to organise and present information, views and concepts in a concise, understandable and interesting format for a variety of audiences
  • Innovative forward thinking, willingness to seek and accept challenges and opportunities and development of communication plans and strategies
  • Ability to influence the decisions, actions or perceptions of others and create networks in order to achieve goals
  • Advanced networking skills, with a strong track record of building and fostering donor relationships
  • A strong sales background with a good track record of securing major gifts and exceeding targets.

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is responsible for building the foundations of lifelong relationships between the University’s alumni, business, and the community. The Office comprises of three teams – Alumni Relations and Development and Operations.

The Development team maintains relationships with donors and partners to ensure they understand the value and impact of their support. The environment is fast paced, and meaningful. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, high-energy team as ECU enters an exciting and transformational phase, including the opening of Western Australia’s first comprehensive city university campus.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary including a 17% University superannuation contribution.
