Key Responsibilities
In support of Fortescue's strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Heavy Industry projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet and rail locomotives.
Based out our new Redcliffe and Hazelmere R&D facilities and reporting to the Heavy Industry Principal Embedded Systems, we are presently looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Work in a fast-moving team of software and control systems engineers to deliver an industry-leading range of products in the heavy haul rail market
- Lead the software release process for a portfolio of control systems products
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines serving the controls software development team
- Administer and maintain the software issue tracking system. This includes user and workflow management
- Triage issues, requirements and test cases
- Develop and maintain a software configuration management system for the product portfolio
- Educate fellow team members in software development lifecycle procedures and best practices
Qualifications and Experience
- Computer Science, Engineering bachelor's degree or related field
- Experience in the implementation and operation of software product development environments, particularly in an OEM enterprise
- Proficiency in scripting and infrastructure automation tools (Shell, Python, Terraform)
- Knowledge in configuration and monitoring of CI/CD pipelines using both on-premises and cloud-based automation servers e.g. Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Intimate knowledge of the Amazon Web Services platform
- Experience with project management and program development tools (i.e. Atlassian Jira, Confluence)
- Experience with product development or systems engineering in Rail industry is highly advantageous
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
- Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn fast and adapt to an environment with dynamic process and program requirements
